The Fasano House at Alfred University, c. 1880's
Alfred, New York
This incredible house was built in the Eastlake/Queen Anne style and, after completion, was thought to be one of the largest and most distinguished homes in the area. Commissioned by William Clarke Burdick, an Alfred University trustee, the house was donated to the college after it had served as a fraternity house for over 80 years . We worked for college representatives to produce Preservation Documents, which included a survey of existing conditions, an analysis of construction chronology, identification of significant and character-defining elements, paint analysis, and preservations recommendations and priorities.
The house had been green and white for as long as anyone could remember, but we discovered a much more colorful scheme beneath the surface.
